TEST SHALL BE CONDUCTED USING WATER. <br /> NOTIFY OWNER 72 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF WHEN CONTRACTOR IS <br /> READY FOR TEST. <br /> 6. 1 PATCH PAVING WORK <br /> A. SCOPE OF WORK: Patch paving work applies to minor work in <br /> connection with covering of pipe trenches, areas adjacent to <br /> tank slab, etc. <br /> B. REQUIREMENTS: All areas requiring paving shall be at least <br /> 18" wide, with slides having straight, clean faces. All areas <br /> are to be brought to finished grade minus 6" before paving. <br /> C. PROCEDURE: Select any of the following paving methods: <br /> 1. Place concrete to fin. grade minus 111 . Place 1" A.C. cap <br /> lift after concrete has cured (maximum aggregate size <br /> 3/811) . <br /> 2 . Six inches of full-depth A.C. hot mix (maximum aggregate <br /> size 1/411) . <br /> 3 . Four-inch gravel base plus 2" A.C. hot mix (maximum <br /> aggregate size 3/411) . <br /> NOTE: Roll all asphaltic concrete for proper compaction. <br /> 7 . 1 CONCRETE WORK <br /> A. GENERAL: Furnish, install and finish yard slabs and pump <br /> islands as required to complete the petroleum fueling <br /> installation to dimensions shown on drawings. <br /> B. MATERIALS: <br /> 1. PORTLAND CEMENT: ASTM C150-67 Type II, low alkali <br /> cement; Type III for High Early Strength. <br /> 2 . AGGREGATES: ASTM C33-67 and as follows: Do not use <br /> aggregates known to cause excessive shrinkage. <br /> a. COARSE AGGREGATE: Uniformly graded between maximum <br /> size (1 1/2" max. to 3/4" min. ) and minimum size <br /> (#4) , crushed rock or washed gravel . Use 3/4" <br /> maximum size for concrete encasing electrical ducts. <br /> b. FINE AGGREGATE: Clean, natural washed sand of hard <br /> and durable particles varying from fine to particles <br /> passing 3/8" screen, of which at least 12% pass 50 <br /> mesh screen. <br />
