Schedule 40 rigid polyvinyl chloride electrical <br /> conduit, listed by UL for direct underground <br /> burial, manufactured from high impact, non- <br /> conducting, self extinguishing material . <br /> 2 . COUPLINGS, ADAPTERS, EXPANSION FITTINGS: <br /> Conform to same requirements as rigid PVC <br /> conduit. Use solvent cement for all PVC joints, <br /> as recommended by conduit manufacturer. <br /> 3 . BENDS: Factory made rigid steel conduit bends; <br /> PVC conduit bends not acceptable. <br /> 2 . EXPLOSION-PROOF JUNCTION BOX: Crouse-Hinds #EGJ 422 , or <br /> GUB02 , or equal, for flush installation in concrete pump <br /> island of gasoline service station. Provide sealing <br /> hubs, plugs, and conduit seals as indicated and as <br /> required by Code. <br /> 3 . EXPLOSION-PROOF CONDUIT SEALS: Appleton, Crouse-Hinds, <br /> or equal, with manufacturer's approved compound. <br /> 4 . WIRE: For ordinary dry and wet locations: Type THWN <br /> copper, marked per UL and bearing their label . Minimum <br /> size shall be #12 AWG. <br /> 5. ISLAND POWER KILL SWITCH: 60A 3P, safety switch, non- <br /> fusible, NEMA3R enclosure, Westinghouse, Square D, or <br /> equal . <br /> 6. BOOSTING TRANSFORMER: (only required if shown on dwgs. ) <br /> OKUA, suitable for boosting normal line voltage from 208 <br /> to 240V, dry type, ACME #T13073 , or equal . Mount in <br /> utility room. <br /> 7 . CIRCUIT BREAKERS: Furnish and install additional circuit <br /> breakers of amperage as specified. Furnish mounting <br /> hardware as required. <br /> G. INSTALLATION <br /> 1. CONDUIT SYSTEM: <br /> a. Install wiring in rigid steel conduit in outdoors <br /> locations, and EMT conduit may be used indoors. <br /> b. Support conduits indoors by approved straps or <br /> hangers and install conduits straight and true with <br /> respect to each other and adjacent construction. <br />
