(Delta), has been authorized by Moore Petroleum, Inc., to
conduct a hydrogeologic assessment investigation at the Exxon gas station at 1399 East Yosemite
Avenue, Manteca in San Joaquin County,California(site) Section 34, TAS., R.7£., Mount Diablo
Base and Meridian (MDB&M) (Figure 1). Delta's investigation was prompted by the reported
detection of petroleum hydrocarbon constituents in the soils adjacent to the underground storage
tanks at the site.
_ 1.1 Purpose
The purpose of the hydrogeologic assessment investigation is to determine the lateral and vertical
extent of petroleum constituents in the soil at the site,to determine the extent(if any)that petroleum
constituents may have affected ground water at the site, and to make recommendations on future
investigative and/or remedial activities to be carried out at the site.
1.2f W rk
Activities that have been carried out in order to achieve the purpose of the investigation have
included the following:
Reviewed available geologic and hydrogeologic data pertinent to the site.
• Drilled two standard-penetration, hollow-stem auger soil borings.
Described the soil encountered in the borings.
• Completed each soil boring as a monitoring well.
• Screened the recovered soil sample with a photoionization detector(PID) for total organic
vapors.
• Based on soil screening results selected soil samples to be analyzed for benzene, toluene,
»- -- - -dachlorotthane(EDC),ethylene and---
e-thylbenzene xylenes(BTEX), 1,2 — —-
