PRELTMINARYHY_pROGEOLOGIC SSF.3SMENT_RPO
1599 East Yosemite Avenue,Maneeea,California
Delta Project No.40-88-480
Page 2
total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) using U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
- Method 8260 by a California-certified laboratory.
s Developed the monitoring wells and collected water samples for each well. Water samples
were analyzed for BTEX, EDB, EDC, and TPH by a California-certified laboratory using
EPA Method 524.2. "t ' '" 7' es r
Conducted and analyzed slug test for the determination of hydraulic conductivity.
Analyzed and evaluated all data collected during the course of the site assessment.
la PrevlQu5 WVr
ETS Environmental(ETS)had been retained previously by Jerry Moore,of Moore Petroleum,Inc.,
_.. to conduct a preliminary site assessment at this location. This site assessment consisted of the
drilling of four soil borings, installation of one monitoring well, and the collection of soil and water
samples from the soil borings and monitoring well. The results of the work performed by ETS are
ry. presented in the following sections.
1 1 11 B rin
Four soil borings MW-1, SB-1,SB-2, and SB-3 were drilled by means of a hollow-stem auger to a
maximum depth of 36 feet. Soil samples were taken at 5-foot-depth intervals by means of a
California-modified split-spoon sampler. Figure 2 shows the Iocation of the soil borings and.
monitoring well.
Soil samples.collected from the soil borings were analyzed by a California-certified laboratory for
BTEX,.EDC, EDB, TPH by EPA Method 524.2/8240: Results of the analyses are presented in
Table 1.
As shown in Table 1,BTEX constituents are found at low levels in all soil samples with the highest
values found in the 20-foot-depth sample taken from MW-1. BTEX results from this sample were
0.05,0.03,0.42, and 1.6 ppm,respectively.
