Locations of the wells proposed herein are based, in part, on this data. <br /> SITE SAFETY PLAN <br /> A Site Safety Plan (SSP) has been prepared and will be on site during all field activities. <br /> All on site work will be conducted in accordance with the SSP. A copy of the SSP is <br /> included as Attachment A. The SSP contains information on the properties of the <br /> hazardous materials known to be on site. This information is squivatent to that contained <br /> within the Material Safety Data Sheets. <br /> SOIL BORING AND SOIL. SAMPLING <br /> Prior to drilling, Underground Services Alert (IDSA)will be notified to identify the locations <br /> of underground utilities entering the site. The proposed soil borings will be drilled at the <br /> approximate locations shown on the Site Map, Figure 2. Drilling will be performed in <br /> accordance with Aegis' Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Attachment B. The <br /> borings to be completed as groundwater monitoring wells are proposed to be drilled to <br /> a depth of approximately thirty-five (35) feet below grade. <br /> During drilling, the subsurface soils and alluvial materials of the unsaturated zone will be <br /> sampled/screened at approximately 5-foot intervals in accordance with Aegis' SOP. The <br /> samples will be described according to the Unified Soil Classification System (USCS) and <br /> Aegis' SOP. <br /> _ Retrieved soil samples will be screened in the field by a portable photoionization detector <br /> (PID) to assist in sample selection for laboratory analysis. The soil samples selected for <br /> analytical testing will be delivered under chain-of-custody to a state-certified analytical <br /> -- laboratory according to Aegis' SOP. <br /> All drilling and soil sampling equipment will be cl, aned prior to first use, and between <br /> - borings, to reduce the possibility of cross-contamination. Rinsewater will be stored <br /> temporarily on site in DOT approved 55-gallon drums, pending laboratory analysis of <br /> water samples. Following receipt of the laboratory results, the rinsewater will be <br /> transported from the site to an appropriate disposal facility. <br /> The selected soil samples will be analyzed for concentrations of: a) total purgeable <br /> w petroleum hydrocarbons, as gasoline (TPPH); b) benzene, toluene, xylenes, and <br /> ethylbenzene (BTX&E) and c) ethylene dibromide and 1.2-dichloroethane (EDB & EDC), <br /> by CAL DHS DRAFT TPH (modified) and EPA Method 8240 (GC/MS).
