Failed to (1) store UW lamps in a closed container and in a manner that prevents <br /> breakage and release to the environment, or (2) immediately clean and containerize <br /> any broken lamps or releases to the environment. <br /> A box of lamps onsite did not have a lid at the time of inspection. Another box was <br /> located and the contents were moved to it and secured. Universal waste storage <br /> protocol has been reviewed with facility personnel, and will be monitored on a weekly <br /> basis by the Regional Maintenance Technician for this facility. <br /> 6. Failed to label universal waste to identify type of universal waste. (a) batteries, (b) <br /> Mercury containing equipment, (c) Lamps, (d) Electronic devices, (e) CRTs, (f) CRT <br /> glass <br /> The above-referenced box of light bulbs did not have a label at the time of <br /> inspection. The box of lamps in question has been appropriately labeled. <br /> Universal waste storage protocol has been reviewed with store personnel, and will <br /> be monitored on a weekly basis by the Regional Maintenance Technician for this <br /> facility. <br /> 7. (a) Stored UW onsite for more than 1 year, or (b) was unable to demonstrate the <br /> length of time the UW has been accumulated from the date it became a waste or <br /> was received. <br /> Please reference the response for#6. <br /> Having corrected the violations noted during the inspection, it is our understanding that this <br /> matter is closed and that PFJ is in full compliance with the requirements of the EHD.
