Section Number: 2-1
Issue Date: 05/06/2010
Revision Date:
2-5 REAL ESTATE
All real estate transactions must be coordinated through and executed by the AUCA real
estate department. It is not permissible for local, regional or area management to
unilaterally enter into an agreement that involves any type of interest in real property.
This includes all agreements, including lease or rental of temporary storage, parking and
office spaces, as well as the leases and purchases of real property.
Agreements involving the ownership, operation or control of real properties may be
associated with the potential for environmental liabilities, even if no direct harm is
caused by AUCA or AUS. For this reason, all real estate transactions are reviewed by
Operations Support for environmental condition. This review is also a requirement for
maintaining full insurance coverage for a location. Directing all real estate transactions
through the AUCA real estate department will assure the appropriate environmental
reviews are completed as necessary.
