Section Number: 2-1 <br />Issue Date: 05/06/2010 <br />Revision Date: <br />Page 17 of 16 <br />5-1 WASTE RECORD KEEPING <br />Overview <br />The following section provides general information on maintaining appropriate records <br />for disposal of industrial and hazardous wastes. <br />Three Key Issues: <br />• Local, state, and federal waste guidelines determine the level of documentation <br />required for all related waste activities. <br />• Plant management is responsible for maintenance of all waste files, including <br />laboratory results, waste processing, generation, and disposal information. Waste <br />files must be kept for three years. <br />• Liquid waste spills or releases that extend beyond ARAMARK property and/or enter <br />state waterways must be reported to the State. In the event of a liquid waste <br />release, immediately contact Operations Support at (630) 271-2988. <br />Recordkeeping Requirements <br />• Documentation for all waste related activities must be completed in accordance with <br />local, state, and federal waste guidelines. Refer to your specific State Waste <br />documentation regulations for guidance. <br />• Plant management must maintain all required waste files. These files include <br />laboratory results, waste processing activity information, and waste generation and <br />disposal information. <br />• All waste generation, disposal, and analytical data must be kept for a minimum of <br />three years (or longer if required by law). <br />• Copies of all related records must be forwarded to the Operational Support <br />Department on a monthly basis. <br />• Waste Water Operators must promptly report all regulatory and safety issues to their <br />immediate supervisor. Any issue that has potential compliance or safety implication <br />must be reported to the Operations Support Department Compliance Group. <br />• Records pertaining to waste water treatment operations and compliance should be <br />readily available to the operator. <br />• Any liquid spills or releases which extend beyond ARAMARK property and/or to state <br />waterways must be reported to state authorities. In the event of a liquid waste <br />release, immediately contact Operations Support at (630) 271-2988 and refer to the <br />plant Spill Plan and Procedures for follow-up. <br />
