Section Number: 2-1
Issue Date: 05/06/2010
Revision Date:
5-1 WASTE RECORD KEEPING
Overview
The following section provides general information on maintaining appropriate records
for disposal of industrial and hazardous wastes.
Three Key Issues:
• Local, state, and federal waste guidelines determine the level of documentation
required for all related waste activities.
• Plant management is responsible for maintenance of all waste files, including
laboratory results, waste processing, generation, and disposal information. Waste
files must be kept for three years.
• Liquid waste spills or releases that extend beyond ARAMARK property and/or enter
state waterways must be reported to the State. In the event of a liquid waste
release, immediately contact Operations Support at (630) 271-2988.
Recordkeeping Requirements
• Documentation for all waste related activities must be completed in accordance with
local, state, and federal waste guidelines. Refer to your specific State Waste
documentation regulations for guidance.
• Plant management must maintain all required waste files. These files include
laboratory results, waste processing activity information, and waste generation and
disposal information.
• All waste generation, disposal, and analytical data must be kept for a minimum of
three years (or longer if required by law).
• Copies of all related records must be forwarded to the Operational Support
Department on a monthly basis.
• Waste Water Operators must promptly report all regulatory and safety issues to their
immediate supervisor. Any issue that has potential compliance or safety implication
must be reported to the Operations Support Department Compliance Group.
• Records pertaining to waste water treatment operations and compliance should be
readily available to the operator.
• Any liquid spills or releases which extend beyond ARAMARK property and/or to state
waterways must be reported to state authorities. In the event of a liquid waste
release, immediately contact Operations Support at (630) 271-2988 and refer to the
plant Spill Plan and Procedures for follow-up.
