This portion of the project is
centered on construction of the intake structure; other contractors have obtained permits for
the pipeline construction dewatering.
For this portion of the project, the Discharger has obtained other permits related to discharge
of extracted groundwater; they include a Construction General Permit (WDID 5S39C356386),
and a Limited Threat Discharge Permit for discharges of construction dewatering to the San
Joaquin River.
Because the Discharger is authorized to discharge construction dewatering to the San
Joaquin River, the application states water will be applied to land until the farmer determines
adequate water has been applied, at that time discharge to the San Joaquin River will
resume.
Based on the information provided in the NOI and additional information submittals, the
application of dewatered groundwater-satisfies the generaland specific-conditions of State
Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) Water Quality Order (WQO) No.
2003-0003-DWQ. Therefore, this letter serves as formal notice that the WQO is applicable to
the site and discharge. You are hereby assigned WQO No. 2003-0003-DWQ-0015 for the
discharge.
California Environmental Protection Agency
aRecycled Paper
