Because the dewatered groundwater will be applied to
land, it is appropriate to evaluate the dissolved concentrations because dissolved
constituents will not be filtered by the soil media. Several constituents were reported at
concentrations above the applicable Water Quality Goals (WQGs). They are shown in bold
type above. The analytes consist of arsenic, manganese, specific conductivity, total
dissolved solids, and turbidity. Because the dewatered groundwater will be pumped from the
shallow aquifer and will be land applied where it will percolate to the shallow aquifer,
groundwater degradation as a result of the activity is not anticipated to occur. Therefore,
groundwater quality monitoring is not required at this time.
