PES Environmental, Inc.
Mr. Michael J. Infurna jr.
August 26, 1993
Page 2
included as an attachment. The-results show that there was no evidence of gasoline or it's
constituents (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene), diesel, chlorinated pesticides, or -
PCBs: The only detectable organic compound was total oil and grease at levels of 45 to 290
parts per million
Concentrations of metals (cadmium [1.5 to 2.2 ppm], chromium :[31 to 37 ppm], copper [28
to 30 ppm], lead [16 to 18 ppm], nickel [22 to 30 ppm], and zinc [54 to'61 ppm]) were all
low and likely representative of background concentrations
With the exception of the underground storage tank disclosed by the property owner, PES-
concluded to LMC that there is no evidence that routine operations at the, site have resulted
in a hazardous materials liability. ,The detection of oil and'.grease at relatively low
concentrations maybe associated with the presence of asphalt material or other incidental
occurrence of heavy fraction hydrocarbons which is ubiquitous and not uncommon at
commercial and industrial sites. PES recommended to LMC that the underground tank on
the site be properly"closed. We understand that closure of.'the tank is currently being
addressed by the property owner. PFS will be reviewing, the tank closure documentation for
LMC and is not anticipating any additional investigative work at the site.
We trust that this is the information that you require at this time. If..you have any questions,
please call.
Yours very truly,
PES ENVIRONMENTAL,INC.
William F..Frizzell P.E.
Principal Engineer
Attachments: Site Plan
Tables 1 and 2
Laboratory Report
cc: Mr..
