However, our initial bid did not include installation of conductor casings,
which is necessary in order to seal the first water bearing zone, thereby reducing the risk of cross
contamination. This is particularly important for this site, as we encountered high concentrations
of contamination in the soil and upper water bearing zone. Consequently, this revised cost
estimate is to install the two deep wells, both with conductor casings. This cost estimate
supersedes our December 1998 cost estimate. A detailed breakdown of our costs is provided on
the enclosed Revised Cost Estimate Worksheet. Also enclosed is a copy of our 1999 Fee
Schedule.
In addition to the conductor casings, we have included in this cost estimate time to drill one pilot
hole he pilot hole will be drilled outside of the contamination plume to identify the t tc ness o
the aquitard separating the two water bearing zones. The identified aquitard thickness will then
be used to determine the optimal depth to found the two conductor casings. Further, the pilot
hole will confirm whether in fact a second aquifer exists within 70 feet. Should the pilot hole fail
to reveal a second aquifer within 70 feet, then we will discuss our findings with San Joaquin
County and re-evaluate whether the deeper wells are needed. If the deeper wells are not
installed, our cost estimate will be adjusted accordingly.
Rancho Cordova South take Tahoe Atascadero
11350 Monier Park Place, Rancho Cordova.
