5.2.6 INSTALL AND REGULARLY TEST APPROVED LIQUID LEVEL SENSING DEVICES,OR PROVIDE EQUIVALENCE AS ALLOWED BY CFR 112.7(a)(2) (40 Mt 112.8(c)(81) JBH uses a magnetostrictive probe style liquid-level gauge on its fuel dispensing tank. The gauge is connected to an alarm control box, which is equipped with an audible and visual high- level alarm. Once 90%of the tank's capacity is reached, an alarm sounds notifying the delivery driver to cease the delivery to that tank. The liquid-level gauge is checked annually to confirm proper function. The motor oil tank and waste oil tank each have flotation style liquid-level gauges. The liquid- level gauges are checked annually to confirm proper function. Visual observation of the tank fluid level is the method used for filling these tanks. A person at the tanks' liquid level gauge, or observation hatch,watches the fluid level as these tanks are being filled. The observation person has visual and audible communication with the person operating the pump on the delivery truck.
