i •
Draft Limited Phase II Site Investigation
Austin Road-SR 99 Van Till Property Acquisition BCI File No. 2643.x
Manteca California October 23, 2013
Sample Analysis
BCI submitted 10 soil samples to SunStar for the following analyses:
• Title 22 Metals (CAM 17) including arsenic and lead using EPA Test Method 6010B
• Organochlorine pesticides(OCP)using EPA Test Method 8081A
BCI submitted one (1) soil sample to SunStar for the following analyses:
• TPH Diesel,Motor Oil using EPA Test Method 8015B
• TPH Gas/BTEX, Oxygenates using EPA Test Method 8260B
SunStar performed Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC)procedures for each method of
analysis. Laboratory QA/QC procedures include Method Blanks and Spiked Samples.
Analytical Results
Laboratory testing results are as follows:
• All samples were non-detect for OCP.
• All samples were non-detect for total arsenic.
• Two samples resulted in non-detect levels for lead. Eight samples had total lead
concentrations above the detection limit of 3.0 mg/kg. Total lead ranged from ND to 25
mg/kg with an average value of 7.67 mg/kg.
• All sample results for the CAM 17 metals including lead are within the range of expected
natural background levels for these elements.l
• TPH results are non-detect.
• Laboratory quality control results were within acceptable limits.
• Summarized laboratory results are included in Appendix A
• Complete laboratory results as well as chain-of-custody documents are included in
Appendix B
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Pesticides/Heavy Metals
OCPs were not detected. Heavy metal concentrations are consistent with background levels. We
conclude that no further assessment is warranted for the pesticides and/or heavy metals evaluated
in this report.
ADL
We analyzed groups of data based on sample depth as well as the sample population as a whole.
Table 1 summarizes the total lead results for soil samples from "A6" samples(0 to 6"bgs) and
1 Background data from KEARNEY FOUNDATION SPECIAL REPORT—Background Concentrations of Trace
and Major Elements in California Soils,Kearney Foundation of Soil Science,Division of Agriculture and Natural
Resources,University of California,March 1996.
3
