The site is <br /> immediately adjacent to "D" street, (formerly known as Diamond <br /> street, ) on the east; Charter Way is the southerly boundary, and <br /> the certeriine of Mormon slough forms the north property line; <br /> (refer to Plate I for more information. ) <br /> The area is zoned for manufacturing and light industrial use; <br /> there are no residences in the immediate area of the site. <br /> Charter Way, (Highway 4, ) is a major connector between State <br /> Highway 99 to the east and Interstate 5 to the west. <br /> GEOLOGIC SETTING: The site is situated in the approximate center <br /> of the southern portion of the Sacramento Valley, and is within <br /> the 100 year flood plains of the Calaveras & San Joaquin Rivers. <br /> The Stockton Deep Water Channel is about 2 miles to the northwest <br /> and Duck Creek is 1 1/2 miles to the south. <br /> ..r <br /> The area is one of gentle relief , with a gradient of less than 2 <br /> degrees per mile towards the west. Surface elevation at the site <br /> is about 22' above sea level .
