They must have read the drilling <br /> operations safety manual and is familiar with safe operating practices. <br /> • The drill crew supervisor shall check daily prior to operation for structural damage, <br /> loose bolts and nuts, proper tension in chain drives, loose or missing guards or <br /> protective covers, fluid leaks, damaged hoses and/or damaged pressure gauges and <br /> pressure relief valves. <br /> • Pipes, drill rods, casing, augers and similar drill tools, materials and supplies must be <br /> stored to prevent rolling or sliding so that they can be safely handled without hitting <br /> or falling on a member of the drill crew. <br /> • Avoid storing or transporting tools, materials or supplied within or on the mast <br /> (derrick) of the drill rig. <br /> • Penetration or other driving hammers should be placed at a safe location on the <br /> ground or be secured to prevent movement when not in use. <br /> 6 <br /> ENG\47952-MH5P <br />
