' G16010uaf?ecknics Inc. • • Page 6 <br /> Soar Installation Work Plan <br /> Fortifiber <br /> ' Project No. 709.2 <br /> December 7, 1998 <br /> ' Groundwater <br /> Upon reaching the capillary fringe a hydropunch type hollow sample rod will then be driven <br /> down several feet below the water table and pulled back a few inches to open the screen. A <br /> ' pump will then be attached and groundwater is pumped out until it flows clear. A sample is <br /> then collected. <br /> ' Groundwater samples will be carefully pl ced in either a 40 mil. VOA or a 1 liter glass <br /> bottle, depending on analysis. Samples wite <br /> be collected to insure no bubbles are present in <br /> the sample bottle. The sample bottles will labeled with a unique identification and placed <br /> ' in an ice chest for transport,under chain of custody, to the laboratory. <br /> 2.3 Sample Analyses <br /> It is proposed that a total of 12 to 24 soil samples, one from each borehole, and one <br /> groundwater sample be submitted for the following analyses: <br /> ' Soil samples will be submitted to a California State Certified Laboratory and analyzed for <br /> benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX by EPA method 8020), total extractable <br /> petroleum hydrocarbons analyses (TEPH-D esel, Kerosene, Dielectric & Motor Oils, by EPA <br /> method 3540/8015m) and halogenated solvents by EPA method 8010. The detection limits <br /> ' for these compounds are listed below. <br /> DetectionLimits: BTEX TEPH-Do vents <br /> ' Waterug varies <br /> Soil (µg/Kg) varies <br /> 3.0 SCHEDULE & REPORTING <br /> It is anticipated that we will begin fieldwo k immediately following work plan approval and <br /> issuance of a boring permit. Our tentative schedule for drilling and sampling is December <br /> 16, 1998.
