zone well out there, it became clear at about 6:00 p.m. that flosimply wasn't going to be
possible at this location.
Today, we started drilling the Taco Bell site. We had similar conditions to what we had
found at the Wendy's location, however the flowing sands were just slightly easier that
what was encountered yesterday. We began with the *B' zone well, and I am happy to
announce that WE OFFICIALLY HAVE A *B' ZONE WELL at the Taco Bell ! Mike Infurna has been
informed (and seems quite surprised/pleased) , and will be coming out shortly to observe
the grouting.
We don't anticipate any problems installing the *A' zone well at the Taco Bell, and with
any luck, we'll be out of there by mid-afternoon.
I know that our Work Plan specifies that *A' and *B' zone wells will be installed at the
Wendy's and Taco Bell, but given that we have now spent seven days in the field drilling
eight wells under adverse conditions, I would like to see if you are willing to allow us
to remove the *B' zone well at the Wendy's from the scope of work unless contaminant
impacts are found in any of the newly installed northern wells. The rationale is that if
all of the other wells indicate that the contaminant plume has not moved toward the north,
the installation of a *B' zone well at the Wendy's may not warranted given the known
adverse drilling conditions and costs associated with remobilization. Please let me know
what you think about this.
Thanks!
--Ron
Ronald D.
