I was told by Margaret and Mike that Apex needed to speak
with George Lockwood from the Water Board regarding the sampling
protocol for the NPDES permit. Apex discussed with George the
requirements for the NPDES permit and outlined where Apex would like to
discharge. Apex has the NPDES permit application complete having
sampled for the requirements as outlined in the General Order for Land
Disposal of Groundwater or Surface Water from Cleanup of Petroleum
Pollution Order No. R5-2003-0044 but George mentioned Apex will need to
sample for the SIP monitoring requirements which will delay the NPDES
permit submittal. Apex currently recommends discharging to the storm
water drain system with a drain inlet onsite. An alternate possibility
would be to discharge to the Coldaini Ditch approximately 1,000-feet
south of the site which would increase the remediation system
installation cost significantly. Apex will sample the SIP analytical
requirements required by George, on the week of January 9, results
should be completed by February 3, and the NPDES permit should be
submitted by February 28.
Thank you
Jennifer Worsley
Project Manager
Apex Envirotech, Inc.
Ph. 916-851-0174
Fx. 916-851-0177
3
