San Joaquin County Mosquito Abatement and Vector Control District
200 North Beckman Road, Lodi CA
Site Code: 1849
The site is currently used by the San Joaquin County Mosquito Abatement and Vector
Control District. The San Joaquin County Assessor's Number for the parcel is 049-
050-31 . There are no facility wells on site and the nearest reported well is located
1 ,560 feet south-southwest of the site and is operated by the City of Lodi as a
drinking water supply well, screened from 150 to 395 feet below ground surface (bgs).
Three underground storage tanks were removed in 1986 and replaced with three
underground storage tanks. Contamination was evidenced at the time of tank removal
which was characterized and removed to the extent practical by excavation to 31 feet
bgs. Groundwater monitoring wells were installed and no groundwater contamination
was detected. The remaining contamination from the excavation attempt was
characterized and determined to not pose a future threat to groundwater quality.
PHS/EHD recommends the site be closed.
1986
8/5/86 Removal plans for Tank #1 and #2 were approved.
8/13/86 Tank #1 (1 ,000 gallon gasoline) and Tank #2 (6,500 gallon weed
oil/larvicide) were removed and soil samples were collected from beneath
the tanks. See attached Table 2 for soil results.
8/28/86 Soil borings were drilled in the area of the former weed oil tank #2
(SJMB1 /A) and the former gasoline tank #1 (SJMB2/A). See attached
boring logs and Table 2 for soil results.
9/12/86 Six soil borings were drilled (B-1 - B-6). Samples were not submitted for
analysis from B-5 and B-6. See attached boring logs and Table 2 soil
analytical results.
11 /6/86 Two underground storage tanks were installed. Began operation in
1987. Tank #4 (6,000 gallon weed oil) and Tank #5 (1 ,000 gallon
unleaded gasoline).
11 /21 /86 Removal plan for Tank #3 was approved.
12/10/86 Tank #3 (7,000 gallon larvicide) was removed this date and two soil
samples were collected from beneath the tank. See attached Table 2 soil
analytical results.
12/17/86 Three monitoring wells were installed (MW1 - MW3). See attached boring
logs and component from the Weiss 1987 report that included results
from the soil sample collected from MW2 @ 41 .3 feet bgs.
12/31 /86 One underground storage tank was installed. Began operation in 1987.
Tank #6 (7,500 gallon larvicide).
