The objectives of this investigation N:ere:
(i) demonstrate the ability of the CPT to characterize the site geology and
hydrogeology, and
(ii) demonstrate the accuracy of the CPT-installed BAT sampling system relative to
the California Code of Regulations (CCR) Title 23 groundwater monitor,sg well
samples.
The field work was performed on March 11 and 12, and October 21, 1991.
The equipment and procedures used are described in Section 20. Section 3.0 describes the
CPT data interpretation methodology. Section 4.0 presents the results of the CPT and BAT
testing and sampling program. CPT data logs are contained in Appendix A.
In corjuricf on with the CPT and BAT Sampling Program~,monitoring wells onsite were sampled
according fo standard protocol to assess the potential use of the BAT system for long term
monitoring. Discussion of the monitoring well construction and installation, the sampling
techniques and analytical methods are beyond the slope of this report. However, the
general analytical results for the BAT system and for the monitoring wells are discussed
in Section 4.0 and conclusions and recommendations are presented in Section 5.0. Compl3te
analytical results are presented in Appendix B.
