i Chevron/W. Ben3amin Holt Drive 8
June 1990
(PVC) blank casing and 0. 020-inch machine slotted screen.
Groundwater at this site is expected to be approximately 15-feet
below grade and has shown a seasonal fluctuation of plus or minus
approximately 1 foot. As such, the wells will most likely be
completed to a depth of 25-feet below grade with a screened
interval from 10- to 25-feat below grade. A filter pack of
clean, No. 2 Monterey sand will be set in the annular space
around the well casing and will extend from the bottom of the
screened interval to approximately 2-feet above the top of the
well screen. A seal of hydrated bentonite pellets approximately
' 2-feet thick will be set above the sand pack and the well will
F then be sealed to grade with cement grout. The wellhead will be
encased in a traffic-rated street box and equipped with a locking
a plug-
0 WELL SURVEYING AND DEVELOPMENT
kAfter installation, the wells will be surveyed by a
y
professional surveyor to determine position and wellhead
elevation. These data will be used in conjunction with water
}
level monitoring data to produce a potentiometric surface map for
the site.
i
After allowing sufficient time for the well seals to harden,
? Groundwater Technology will develop the newly installed
monitoring wells. The wells will be developed using a truck-
mounted development system. The wells will then be sub)ected to
alternate rounds of bailing and surging until the water extracted
from the wells is relatively free of salt.
Water generated during well development will be placed in
55-gallon steel drums and stored on site pending proper disposal.
GROUND%krATER
..r.
