If the required information cannot be provided,the <br /> materials must immediately be handled as a hazardous waste. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 301 CCR 66265.31 Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> An empty 55 gallon drum labeled "hazardous waste"was stored upside down on a rainy day 10 feet away from a <br /> storm drain near the outside power washing area. Solid waste was observed near the drum. Facilities shall be <br /> maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion, or release of hazardous waste to air, soil, or <br /> surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately clean the area and manage it <br /> according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and supporting documentation explaining <br /> how this waste was managed. <br /> This is a repeat violation, Class II. <br /> 403 CCR 66265.173 Failed to keep hazardous waste containers closed except when adding or removing hazardous <br /> waste. <br /> Two 55 gallon drums of Excluded Recyclable Material (ERM)labeled acetone were observed without secure lids. <br /> One 5 gallon bucket containing oily metal shavings was observed without a lid. <br /> If any of these containers fell over,the material would leak out. <br /> All hazardous waste containers shall be closed at all times except when adding or removing waste. Immediately <br /> close these containers and ensure all hazardous waste containers are closed when not adding or removing waste. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 501 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label stationary hazardous waste tanks. <br /> The 234 gallon hazardous waste tank on the plating line in the north section of the facility was observed without a <br /> label. The tank is used to store hazardous waste before going through the pipe to the other side for treatment.
