16 February 1998
AGE-NC Project No. 95-0106
3.0. SCOPE OF WORK
The UST site assessment has indicted that petroleum-hydrocarbon impacted soil and ground water
may be distributed east of the site. The PHS-EHD has requested the lateral definition of the impacted
soil and ground water, east of the former UST area. AGE has been granted access to the property at
52 West Beverly Place from the owner Mrs. Imagene Green (property owner). AGE proposes to
establish a ground water monitoring well on the property at 52 West Beverly Place for lateral plume
definition.
The soil boring established for the well installation Nvill be manually established with a six-inch hand
auger, due to the limited site access for the location of the monitoring well. The boring will be
established to a depth of 15 feet bsg. The Nvell will be constructed similar to wells previously
installed at the site. Figure 3 depicts the well construction.
Soil samples will be collected from the hand auger boring at five and ten feet, utilizing a metric soil
sampler and pre-cleaned 2-inch by 6-inch brass sleeves. Store the samples in a chilled container and
transport under chain-of-custody procedure to a state-certified laboratory for analysis. All soil
samples will be analyzed for TPH-a. BTE&X, methyl-tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), tertiary butyl
alcohol (TBA), di-isopropyl ether(DIPS). ethyl tertiary butyl ether(ETBE)and tertiary amyl methyl
ether(TAME).
Ground water samples will be collected from the new well, along with all other wells associated to
the site. Results of the investigation will be reported in a Quarterly Report submitted for the site.
Upon approval of the work plan, we will submit parcel specific soil boring application and fee to the
San Joaquin County Public Health Services - Environmental Health Division. If you have any
questions or require further information, please contact our office at (209) 956-0264.
Sincerely,
Advanced GeoEn0ronmental, Inc.
William Little
Staff Geologist
enclosure cc: Mr. Weldon Church
