r. ,i/
02 December 2009
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0106
and anticipated water injection volumes are discussed further in Section 4.1.
3.3. DRILLING AND SOIL SAMPLE COLLECTION
One ground water monitoring well is proposed for the performance of ISCO pilot test and will be
located between 5 and 10 feet southeast of boring B-18.
-
The pilot boring for the proposed well will be advanced to depths of approximately 25 feet bsg
utilizing a truck-mounted,hollow stem drill rig equipped with 8'/i-inch diameter hollow-stem augers.
However, the total depth may slightly vary according to site conditions encountered during drilling.
Soil samples will be colleck-five foot intervals to total depth of the boring for lithologic purposes; NO ZOO (
soil samples will not be submitted for laboratory analysis. 50^i
tIA-
Following installation, the well will be developed to maximize water flow and minimize the amount
of fine-grained sediment drawn into the well during pumping or bailing. After development, the top
of the newly installed well casing(well head)will be surveyed to determine its elevation relative to
mean sea level. Procedures for well installation, development and survey are presented in Sections
4.2. and 4.3., respectively.
So
3.4. BACKGROUND MONITORING AND SAMPLING
Prior to any ISCO application,a series of field parameters and laboratory samples willbe/gAGE's
llected
to establish baseline or background site conditions. Samples will be collected follo 'n
standard monitoring and sampling procedures, which have been included in Appendix G. Field
parameters and COC's listed below will be collected from wells MW-4 and the proposed monitoring
well. The following summarizes the proposed baseline background monitoring and sampling:
Field Parameters:
• Depth to water will be collected in all of the sites shallow ground water monitoring wells to
establish hydraulic gradient and flow direction at the time of the injection.
• Prior to each purge volume, temperature, pH, oxygen reduction potential (ORP), and
dissolved oxygen (DO) will be collected from monitoring well MW-4 and the proposed
monitoring well.
Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc.
