E LOYEE TRAINING PROGRAM <br /> Employers are required by State law to have a program which provides employees with initial and <br /> refresher training. The Business Emergency Plan shall include a training program which is reasonable <br /> and appropriate for the size of the business and the nature of the hazardous materials handled. The <br /> training program shall take into consideration the responsibilities of the employees to be trained. <br /> Training will be conducted upon hire, and refresher training provided at least annually. <br /> Hazardous Materials Handling & Emergency Response Training Will Include: <br /> 1. Methods for the safe handling of hazardous materials stored at your business, including <br /> familiarity with the characteristics and hazards of each material and measures employees can <br /> take to protect themselves from chemical hazards <br /> 2. Procedures for coordination with local emergency response organizations; <br /> 3. Correct use of emergency response equipment and supplies under the control of the business <br /> 4. The Cal OSHA Hazard Communication Standards <br /> 5. The prevention, abatement and mitigation procedures you have developed for your business <br /> and explained on the Business Emergency Plan <br /> 6. The emergency evacuation plans you have developed, the notification procedure used to alert <br /> people to evacuate, and the closest location to obtain appropriate emergency medical care <br /> 7. Procedures to coordinate with and assist the local emergency personnel that may respond to <br /> your business <br /> 8. Who and how to call for immediate assistance in the event of an accident involving hazardous <br /> materials <br /> 9. Procedure for ensuring that appropriate personnel receive initial and refresher training <br /> UST Equipment Operating and Monitoring Training Will Include: <br /> 1. Take tank level measurements <br /> 2. Read dispenser meters <br /> 3. Inspect equipment <br /> 4. Recognize warning signs: dispenser hesitations, meter spins, and odors <br /> 5. Manually close dispenser impact valve <br /> 6. Replace dispenser filters <br /> 7. Shut down the system by knowing the location of electrical panel breakers and emergency <br /> shutoff switches <br /> 8. Test the electronic monitoring system <br /> 9. Respond to alarms, leaks, or equipment problems <br /> ALL EMPLOYEE TRAINING SHALL BE DOCUMENTED AND UPDATED ANNUALLY <br /> Personnel <br /> 1.
