Report of Results
Investigation of Agricultural Chemicals in Soil
PureGro/Hrea Facility
r 1405 North Broadway Ave.,Stockton,CA
Sierra-Pacific Project No.94-055.08
4.0 SCOPE OF fNVESTIGATION
IT
The scope of work for this investigation is presented for each area of concern. The locations of the areas
of concern and the locations of soil borings are shown on Figure Eight soil borings were advanced.
Samples were collected in each boring at depths of 5, 10,20, 30, 'and 50 feet below ground surface (bgs).
G
4.1 Areas fnve ti aced
Old Tank Farm
The old tank farm had a concrete curb around its perimeter. Aboveground tanks were placed inside the
concrete curb on a layer of gravel. A gravel corridor separated two lines of tanks. The mix plant pad,
which was a rectangular concrete slab, was located at the east end of the tank farm. The materials stored
in the tanks included fertilizer products, such as 10-34-0, 3-10-10, UAN-32, muriate of potash and aqua
ammonia. No pesticides were formulated for stored in these tanks. Four vertical soil borings were
advanced in the tank farm area. The borings were sampled at 5, 1G,20, 30, and 50 feet bgs. These
f z samples were analyzed for nitrogen as nitrate (N-NO;), for total Kjeldahl nitrogen (TKN), and for
halogenated volatile organic compounds (HVOCs).
Current Wash Rack
l Two vertical borings were advanced, one on each end of the current wash rack area. Samples were
1 .
collected at 5, 10, 20, 30, and 50 feet bgs in these borings. These samples were analyzed for N-NO3 and
TKN.
i •
Open Area North of Wash Rack
Two vertical soil borings,NSB-7 and NSB-8 were excavated in the area between the new tank farm and
l the current wash rack. Samples were collected at 5, 10, 20, 30, and 50 feet bgs These samples were
analyzed for N-NO3 and TKN.
4 i
Sierra-Pacific Groundwater Consultants, Inc. 8
I
{
