_ Ground Water Monitoring Wells Installation Report - Fourth Quarter 1999 <br /> WESTERN SQUARE INDUSTRIES <br /> 1621 North Broadway, Stockton, California <br /> 1.0. INTRODUCTION <br /> At the request of Mr. Warren Snider of Western Square Industries,Advanced GeoEnvironmental, <br /> Inc. (AGE) has prepared this report on the installation of three ground water monitoring wells, <br /> collection of soil and ground water samples from the pilot borings, and results of analysis of the soil <br /> and ground water samples for 1565/1621 North Broadway, Stockton, California. The location of the <br /> site is illustrated on Figure 1. A plan of the site is illustrated on Figure 2. <br /> This report was prepared as required by the San Joaquin County Public Health Services - <br /> Environmental Health Division (PHS-EHD) and in accordance with USEPA Region 9 Guidelines <br /> for Closure of Shallow Disposal Wells - 1992 and with San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Division's Recommended Groundwater Sampling Guidelines, dated 15 February 1995. <br /> 2.0. BACKGROUND <br /> The site is located in a light-industrial area of eastern Stockton, San Joaquin County, at an elevation <br /> between 25 and 30 feet above mean sea level. The site is presently occupied by Western Square <br /> - Industries, a steel fabrication facility. <br /> 2.1. SITE OPERATIONS AND WASTE WATER GENERATION <br /> Western Square Industries (WSI) fabricates custom steel items (fencing, truck railings) and has been <br /> located at the site for approximately 12 years. The facility consists of manufacturing, painting, steam <br /> wash line, cleaning and shipping areas. The history of three un-permitted dry wells installed at the <br /> site in 1996 for discharge of the excess wastewater was recounted in detail in Preliminafy Site <br /> T Assessment Work Plan, WESTERN SQUARE INDUSTRIES, 156511621 North Broadway, Stockton, <br /> California, dated 19 November 1999,prepared by AGE. The three dry wells were abandoned under <br /> _ PHS-EHD supervision on 07 September 1999 as reported in the AGE-prepared Shallow Disposal <br /> Well Closure Report, WESTERN SQUARE INDUSTRIES, 1565/1621 North Broadwgy, Stockton, <br /> California. The latter report includes the findings from laboratory analysis of soil samples collected <br /> during the dry-well abandonments. <br /> _ 2.2. GROUND WATER DEPTH AND FLOW DIRECTION <br /> Based upon the San Joaquin County Flood Control Map Lines of Equal Depth in Water Wells- 1996, <br /> ground water depth in the area of the site is approximately 55 to 60 feet below surface grade. <br /> Regional ground water flow direction is east-northeast, however, flow direction and ground water <br /> Advanced GeoEnvironmental,Inc- <br />
