10 March 2000
AGE-NC Project No, 99-0628
Analytical results from ground water samples are summarized in Table 3. The laboratory reports
(PET Laboratory ID PE6778-13 to PE6778-15), quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC)
reports and chain-of-custody forms are included in Appendix F.
Figure 3 depicts the approximate areal distribution metals in ground water. The vertical and
horizontal extent of metals-impacted ground water is not known.
4.4. GROUND WATER FLOW DIRECTION AND GRADIENT
From the depths to water from the casing elevation data, it was found that ground water was
apparently flowing toward the southwest on 08 March 2000, at a gradient of approximately 0.001.
From this data, it is inferred that MW2 is the up-gradient well, MW3 is the down-gradient well,
— and MW1 is cross-gradient to MW2 and MW3. Figure 3 shows the contoured ground water
elevation data.
5.0. SUMMARY AND CONCLUSIONS
,. The following conclusions were drawn from the results of this investigation:
• The soil samples analyzed have not been impacted by TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX or MTBE, but
appear to have elevated concentrations of nickel and cadmium.
• Ground water does not appear to have been impacted by TPH-g, TPH-d, BTEX of MTBE,
but has been impacted by lead, nickel, copper, cadmium and chromium.
6.0. RECOMMENDATIONS
Based on the results of this investigation, AGE recommends:
• Development and monitoring of the three ground water monitoring wells for lead, nickel,
copper, cadmium and chromium.
• Verification of the lack of TPH-g, TPH-d, TPH-mo, BTEX, volatile organic compounds and
semi-volatile organic compounds during the first monitoring event; discontinue any of these
analyses that are non-detect for the analytes.
• Analysis of the ground water samples for hexavalent chromium.
• Analysis of the ground water samples for pH.
Adrq»ced GeoEnvironcnental.Inc.
