The lateral.ligand vertical extent of the <br /> contamination remains unknown and the direction of, groundwater flow is <br /> uncertain. A suite of four monitoring wells is proposed to help define the <br /> extent of the contamination and to determine the direction of groundwater <br /> L <br /> flow. <br /> L2.0 SITE HISTORY <br /> i <br /> The subject Property is the site of a water softener service company. In 1987 <br /> the tank was removed under County permit. A confirmation soil sample was <br /> collected from beneath the tank pit and low concentrations of petroleum <br /> hydrocarbons were detected and the soil exuded a strong gasoline odor. On <br /> LFebruary 18, 1994, the agency issued a letter stating that there is <br /> insufficient information to officially close the tank, but the site is not <br /> considered contaminated and no notice of unautho"rized',release was issued or <br /> is anticipated.
