Documented Report 15-20313 Supplement No
San Joaquin County Sheriff
Narrative
and then he drove the truck inside for services that needed to be done. He stated that his
company delivers Clorox cleaning supplies and that he had approximately four cases of
chlorine sani-wash, which is approximately two and a half gallons each. He stated that he was
directed by (BSS) MARTEN'S TRUCKING COMPANY's dispatcher to dispose of all the
cleaning supplies due to them being broken or tampered with.
He then decided to bring approximately three gallons of the chlorine solution into the men's
restroom, where he dumped them inside the toilet bowl. He stated that the box indicated that
the solution was to only be mixed with water, and that is why he decided to pour it inside the
toilet bowl.
(W) DELP stated that he did not mean to cause any harm to anyone and he was very sorry for
what had happened today.
(W) DELP stated that he was only doing what he was told by his company, and that was to
dispose any of the tampered product that he may have with him. (W) DELP offered for us to
look at the remaining cases that were left inside the trailer that was on the side of the road.
While looking at the one box that was left inside of the trailer, the product was called
Echo-Sanitary, which has an active ingredient called sodium hydrochloride.
On one side of the box it also indicated "Do not mix with anything, but water." Further direction
also stated "Do not contaminate water, and must be properly disposed of according to
Federal regulations and laws."
Further instruction also advised that the product be properly disposed of and must contact
environmental protection agency (EPA) for proper disposal procedures.
It is also to be noted that the San Joaquin County Hazardous Material Agency responded to
the location and took over the scene.
CONCLUSION:
This case is closed.
There were no further actions taken.
End of report.
Report Officer Printed At
162619/HER,CHA 12/03/2015 08:35 Page 5 of 5
