Due to the extensive logistics of importing clean backfill and exporting impacted soil
on this project ChevronTexaco discussed the alternative of reusing impacted soil as backfill above the
encased storm water sewer pipes and below the level of the road with the City of Tracy. Mr. Paul
Verma, the City of Tracy Construction Engineer agreed that reuse of the impacted solid was
acceptable provided the soil management plan is in place, should there be a future need to excavate in
the area.
ChevronTexaco believes that the beneficial reuse of this material is appropriate in these controlled
circumstances, the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Department and you were contacted
and agreed. The Revised Soil Management Plan and associated guidelines will be adhered to at the
subject site. If you have any questions please contact me at the number above or Mr. Bryan Turner of
Geomatrix Consultants at 925-842-1343.
Sincerely,
M.
