INTRODUCTION <br /> This document,.prepared by Clearwater Group, Inc: (Clearwater), presents a <br /> workplan for the sampling and removal of-stockpiled soil, the,'backfilling of <br /> two excavations,• and continued site assessment at the Olivarez Property in <br />' Stockton, California. <br /> 1.1 Site Description <br />' The site is located at 300 South California Street, Stockton, in a neighborhood <br /> Thai is`mixed-residential and-commercial (Figure T)'.' It is located just south of <br /> Lafayette Street and the elevated . Crosstown' Freeway. The property was <br /> formerly a .fuel service station and it is currently used as a vehicle- service <br /> center. Gasoline and diesel fuel-were:dispensed from underground storage <br /> tanks (USTs) located along' the northern property boundary adjacent to <br /> Lafayette Street. The-site layout and former UST locations are presented:in <br /> Figure 2. <br /> Five fuel USTs and one used motor oil tank were removed from the site (by' . <br /> others)' in 'November 1992. Neither of the two excavations have been <br /> backfilled. The former fuel tank excavation on the north side of the ,property <br /> is approximately 13 feet deep and has thick vegetation cover over the bottom <br /> of it. Approximately.500-600 cubic yards (cy).of soil were removed from. the , <br /> excavation; and the soil is'currently stockpiled on'the east side of thetY ro er . <br /> P P _ . <br /> The waste oil tank:excavation is approximately four feet deep; approximately <br /> 3 to 4'cy of soil are stockpiled adjacent io that excavation: <br />' 1.2 Previous Work r <br /> The.results of analysis of soil samples collected during tank 'removal activiiies <br /> indicated the presence of-hydrocarbons it the subsurface. On January 19; 1995 <br /> Clearwater Group, Inc: _(Clearwater). submitted a Workpian',p for Treliminary <br /> Site Assessment of the subject location.
