The purpose of this investigation is to determine
if gasoline and/or diesel has been released from underground fuel storage systems at the
site.
On November 21, 2001, V&W Drilling (C57# 720904) installed two GeoProbe soil borings
at the site. Geological Technics Inc. personnel were on site to collect soil samples, log the
boreholes and supervise the borehole drilling activities.
The borings were drilled to a depth of approximately"26 feet below ground surface (bgs) in
the area of the former underground fuel storage tanks/fuel dispenser island. Groundwater
was not encountered. Two soil samples from each'<borehole were collected and sent to
Sherwood Labs Corporation, Hilmar, CA(State Certified Laboratory#1400). for analysis.
t
Conclusions
Field and laboratory evidence indicated that a release of petroleum hydrocarbons has
probably not occurred and no further investigation is necessary.
L'
1.0 INTRODUCTION
i
There is evidence of former underground storage tanks present at the site (vent piping on
j the east wall and a dispenser island). In addition to the physical data, the San Joaquin
assessor's records indicate the existence of two 2000, one 1000, and one 5000 gallon
underground storage tanks. The locations of the former tanks are not known or if
i underground storage tanks remain on the site.
The Subject Property (hereafter referred to as the Property) covers approximately 0.23 acres
1 and is located at the northeast corner of N California and E Lindsay Streets, Stockton,
