Price, a geologist for GTI. The`,boring logs are included in.Appendix
C.
.2.2 Laboratory Analyses
+ Two soil samples from each borehole were submitted to Sherwood Labs Corporation,
i Hilmar, CA (State Certified Laboratory#1400). They'were analyzed for the following:
1 • Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene (BTEX) by EPA method 602
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH-G)by EPA method 8015 (m)
• Total petroleum hydrocarbons as diesel (TPH-D)by EPA method 3510/8015(m)
• Oxygenates: MTBE, TBA,DIPE, ETBE, TAME by EPA method 8260
3.0 SITE GEOLOGY
The soils beneath the site primarily consisted of a fine to medium grained sand. Some silt,
r clay, organic material.and carbonates were noted as fine-grained matrix in the sand.
The boring logs that summarize information and observations made in the field are included
1 in Appendix C.
4.0 ANALYTICAL RESULTS
Summarized below are the results of the soil analysis.
I `` • BTEX was non-detect in each of the four samples.
• Total petroleum h drocarbons as gasoline were non-detect in all four samples.
! • Totalpetroleum hydrocarbons as diesel were non-detect in each of the four samples.
f
• MTBE, TBA, DIPE, ETBE and TAME were non-detect in all four samples.
Table 1 in Appendix A is a full summary of the soil analytical data collected at the site.
The lab data reports are attached in Appendix B.
5.0 CONCLUSIONS
Conclusions
Given the limited data collected during the investigation, Geological Technics Inc. makes
the following conclusions:
1. The two locations selected for GeoProbe boring are probable locations of former
Underground Storage Tanks and former dispenser island. Without direct knowledge
of UST locations, GTI recognizes possible alternate UST locations exist on the site.
2. Field and laboratory investigation found no evidence from the two test holes that
indicated a release of petroleum hydrocarbons has occurred in these two areas.
L?
