After installation, <br /> the monitoring wells will be developed by rigorously surging the <br /> wells over the length of the screen intervals and by purging <br /> approximately 10 casing volumes of water After well development, <br /> groundwater samples will be collected from the newly installed wells <br /> and sent under standard chain-of-custody procedures to a California <br /> State-certified laboratory Groundwater samples will be analyzed for <br /> TPHg, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes, MtBE, DIPE, <br /> TAME, EtBE, TBA, 1,2 DCA,EDB, and ethanol by EPA Method <br /> 8260B, Single Run Field procedures for groundwater monitoring <br /> well development and sampling are provided as Attachment C <br /> • Well Surveying. Upon completion of well construction, the wells <br /> will be surveyed by a licensed surveyor to a local benchmark relative <br /> to mean sea level The groundwater gradient will be interpreted <br /> utilizing wellhead elevations and depth-to-water measurements <br /> • Soil and Water Disposal Soil cuttings generated during drilling <br /> operations will be temporarily stored onsite and covered with plastic <br /> sheeting pending characterization and disposal Soil cuttings will be <br /> removed by Tosco's disposal contractor to an appropriate disposal <br /> facility Water generated during steam cleaning will be temporarily <br /> stored in DOT-approved 55-gallon drums pending transport by <br /> Tosco's disposal contractor to an appropriate disposal or treatment <br /> facility Soil cuttings and purge water drums will be temporarily <br /> stored onsite for approximately 4 to 8 weeks <br /> • Report. A report will be prepared after completion of necessary field <br /> work The report will include soil boring logs, soil and groundwater <br /> analytical results, chain-of-custody documentation, and conclusions <br /> SCHEDULE <br /> SECOR is prepared to initiate field work within four weeks after the addendum to the <br /> work plan is approved, encroachment permits from the City of Lathrop, the soil boring <br /> and well construction permits can be obtained from the SJC-EHD, and a drilling <br /> company is scheduled A report documenting the findings of the installation of <br /> monitoring wells is anticipated to be submitted approximately four to eight weeks after <br /> the completion of the field work and upon receipt of all analytical data from the <br /> laboratory <br /> TOSCO/1205/WKPLAN1205 Addendum <br />
