During the investigation, MTBE-impacted ground
water was identified as the main constituent of concern.
• Between November 2000 and August 2004, extraction/remediation wells EW-1 through
EW-10 were installed at the site for operation of a ground water pump-and-treat remediation
system;ground water remediation was performed at the site by selectively extracting MTBE-
impacted ground water from wells EW-1 through EW-10. During the above referenced
ground water remediation operational period, a grand total of approximately 27,086,201
gallons of MTBE-impacted water was treated and discharged off-site under National
Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) waste water discharge permit no.
CAG915001.
• In August 2004, all ground water remediation operations were suspended a the site due to
declining MTBE concentrations at the site.
