12 July 2000
AGE-NC Project No. 96-0232
point of discharge into the canal would be located in an area near the southeast intersection of
Thomton Road and De Broggi Road.
AGE would anticipate a continuous discharge of pre-treated ground water from Flag City Chevron
to Canal No.DPC-79 at a flow rate of approximately 15 gallons per minute,or approximately 21,600
gallons per day. Based on modeling calculations of the Flag City Chevron subsurface impacted
ground water plume, AGE estimates that discharge into Canal No. DPC-79 would be desired for
approximately two years.
Sampling ports would be installed to monitor influent and effluent of the "pump and
treat"remediation system;receiving water monitoring stations(R-1 and R-2) would be set up 50 feet
upstream and 50 feet downstream from the point of discharge to monitor effluent and the general
water conditions of the canal. Prior to any discharge, an effluent monitoring and sampling program
would be initiated at the Flag City Chevron site in a format acceptable to the DWR, RWQCB and
the U.S. Fish and Game.
Upon completion of the"pump and treat"remediation system at the Flag City Chevron site, the six-
inch diameter discharge pipe from the Flag City Chevron site to DWR Canal No. DPC-79 would be
removed from the subsurface, and all encroached areas returned to there original conditions.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact the undersigned at (209) 467-1006.
Sincerely,
Advanced GeoEnvironmental, Inc.
Timoth .
