SUMMARY
Soil Over-excavation Workplan
Saddle City Chevron
6421 W. Paddock Place
Lodi, CA
This workplan applies to the removal of soil material above the
water table which is not stictly necessary for tank
removal/replacement. At this time the amount of soil to removed is
unknown, however, previous soil and water sampling suggest that
extensive contamination is not present. Based on existing
knowledge it is anticipated that removal will entail less than
three feet in a lateral direction around the tank cavity and less
than one foot around the piping trenches. This material would
total approximately 243 yards from around the tank excavation (168
foot perimeter by 13 feet deep by 3 feet laterally) and
approximately 67 yards from around the piping trenches (180 feet
of run by one foot laterally by five feet deep) . Soils which are
removed as part of the over-excavation will be stockpiled with any
other contaminated soils on an impermeable surface and will be
covered with plastic sheeting.
One sample will be collected for every 50 yards of removed
materials and analyzed for BTEX, and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons
as gasoline and diesel by a State Certified laboratory.
A technical summary report will be prepared which will include all
analytical results, a documentation of removed soil volumes and
recommendations for additional work at the site, including a plan
for disnosal of excavated material.
