If off-site
disposal is anticipated, the requirements of the receiving
facility need to be adhered to and PHS-EHD does not need to be
present for the sampling event .
In preparation for soil to be returned to the excavation from
which it came, Tri-Regional Board Staff Recommendations must be
maintained and one discrete sample for each 25 cubic feet of
stockpiled soil must be taken. PHS-EHD will need to witness this
sample collection.
Detection limits for soil samples shall be the following;
-TPH-G by EPA Method 8015 modified with GC/FID 5030
preparation, 1. 0 mg/kg (ppm) or 1000 . 0 ug/kg (ppb) .
-TPH-D by EPA Method 8015 modified with GC/FID 3550
preparation, 1.0 mg/kg (ppm) or 1000 . 0 ug/kg (ppb) .
-BTEX by EPA Method GC/PID 8020, 0 . 005 mg/kg (ppm) or
5 . 0 ug/kg (ppb) .
Soil samples that exceed these levels and are returned to the
excavation shall be remediated under an approved remediation plan
due as soon as remodeling activities are completed.
The detection limits proposed for the water samples are
acceptable .
