A proposal to install this well should be submitted to PHS-EHD very soon. In addition to this
replacement well, the proposal should include soil sampling at every five feet starting at five feet below ground
surface (' has) and continue to the total depth of the well at approximately 25' bgs.
Soil should be sampled for TPH as both Gasoline and Diesel, BTEX, and MTBE. Groundwater sampling after
the new well is installed should be from all three monitoring wells on-site and for the same constituents as
sampled for in the soil.
If all samples are non-detect at LUFT detection limits, the site may qualify for site certification/closure.
If contaminants are detected in the soil, site characterization will need to be completed and a proposal to fulfill
this requirement should be submitted to PHS-EHD for review and approval. If contaminants are detected in the
groundwater, a program for quarterly monitoring should be set up and you will be required to submit a proposal
to define the extent of the plume. Monitoring of the groundwater should continue as steps are taken to establish
a plan to determine the feasibility of at least two methods of remediation. This Feasibility Plan, including an
estimate of costs, should be submitted to PHS-EHD for approval. Once a method is approved, the detailed
scope of the work should be compliled into a Corrective Action Plan for evaluation by PHS-EHD.
Any questions you may have should be directed to Michael Infitma at (209)468-3454.
Donna Heran, REHS, Director
Envirojimental
Health Division
Michael Infuma, Senior HS Diane M.*Hinson, REHS
Site Mitigation Unit Supervisor
MI
c: Riddle and Isola, Kerry Zimmerman
2291 West March Lane, Suite 100-D, Stockton, CA 95207
c: SWRCB, G.
