San Joaquin Street <br /> Stockton, CA., 95201 <br /> Subject: Application for Soil Boring Permit <br /> Shinko Electric America Property <br /> 551 Carnegie Street <br /> Manteca, California <br /> Project No. 951055NA <br /> Dear Ms. Hinson: <br /> This letter requests for your approval to advance four soil borings and convert them to <br /> groundwater monitoring wells to evaluate soil quality, groundwater quality and groundwater <br /> flow direction at the above site. The evaluation is being conducted at the request of Olin <br /> Interconnect Technologies (Olin) in Manteca, California. Olin is preparing to lease the 551 <br /> Carnegie Street property from Shinko Electric America, to expand their present facilities at <br /> 544 Industrial Park Drive. A copy of Woodward-Clyde's proposal to Olin for the evaluation <br /> activities is provided as an attachment for your reference. <br /> Enclosed is a completed "Application for Well/Pump Permit" for the four monitoring wells. <br /> Also enclosed is a check for the application fee of$89. A site map showing the location of <br /> the proposed borings/wells is attached. The groundwater monitoring wells will be included <br /> into Olin's existing facility monitoring program. <br /> Woodward-Clyde has contracted Spectrum Exploration of Stockton, California to conduct <br /> the drilling activities. The depth of the borings will extend up to 30 feet below ground <br /> surface.
