A total of 38 samples were collected during this period
and submitted to Canonie Engineers Laboratory for analytical testing. Their
reports for those analyses requested in Item 3 of your referenced letter are
attached. In addition to water samples collected from the holding pond and
sump, samples were also obtained in roughly the four corners of the north yard
to help delineate those areas with high concentrations of chrome and copper in
the runoff. A map showing the sample locations is attached. Presented below is
a brief report on each sampling.
Sunday Morning, October 6, 1985
This was the first rain after our original discussion. Rain began at
approximately 3 A.M. and remained a drizzle until approximately 5:30 A.M. when
sufficient rain occurred to cause appreciable runoff into the gutters at the
Writer's home, located approximately 10 miles north of the :Marley facility.
When the Writer arrived at the site at approximately 6 A.M., it was apparent
that the site itself had received very little rain in comparison to north
Stockton. Only two samples were obtained at locations 1 and 2, each containing
significant sediment.
OTHER OFFICES:
Walnut Creek • San Ramon • Sacramento Fresno fauiield • Merced Rohnett Park 0Los Angeles • Rena 0Las Vegas • S[.Cewge.Utah • Denver
