The other information requested in the RAO has been gathered <br /> through previous investigation efforts. <br /> DHS Comment: <br /> Fig 4-2 Add the following sample locations: <br /> S-23 & S-24; See comment below regarding Page 4-4 for <br /> description of locations. <br /> Page 4-4 Revise to include the following additional sample locations: <br /> Location S-23: On residential property between <br /> sample points S-21 and S-14, <br /> approximately 5 feet south of the <br /> fence. <br /> Location S-24: In center of bottom of roadside <br /> ditch on west side of Dawes, <br /> located midpoint between S-14 and <br /> S-15. <br /> Page 4-5 Second paragraph: <br /> Revise to indicate additional sample locations and <br /> elevations specified in the above comment for Page 4-4 . <br /> Third paragraph: <br /> All soil samples collected from the perimeter of the south <br /> yard and scheduled for analysis (Table 4-1) shall include <br /> determination of total chromium, hexavalent chromium, <br /> arsenic, copper, and zinc concentrations. <br /> Additionally, and as required for samples collected around the <br /> perimeter of the north yard , moisture content of samples shall be <br /> determined and recorded as part of the analytical report . <br /> Clarification- <br /> The description "mutually acceptable maximum background <br /> level" is assumed to represent the values presented in the <br /> 1985 Soil Assessment Plan Report prepared by J.H. <br /> Kleinfelder & Associates and dated August 1985. <br /> Comment- <br /> The Department has no objections to performing the Laste <br /> Extraction Test (VE-ET) , however, it must be emphasized that <br /> use of this test is restricted to establishing disposal <br /> requirements for the material(s) being tested. <br /> 11654 3 <br />
