Composite samples will be collected from the proposed disposal site and
analyzed for copper, chromium, and arsenic to establish background levels.
As long as levels of these constituents in the drilling mud are not
significantly higher than background disposal can proceed. If levels are
significantly higher (but still below hazardous levels) , leaching tests
will be required to determine if the proposed disposal method is still
acceptable.
2. If the drilling muds have not been completely dried and disced into the
soil before the start of the rainy season (approximately mid-November) , the
berms must be heightened to provide at least a two-foot freeboard.
If you have any questions, please call Gary Reents at (916) 361-5742.
V
ANTONIA K.
