This addendum has been prepared in <br /> response of the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Division's (County's) letter, dated <br /> November 17, 2003, requesting the submittal of a work plan to address the vertical extent of <br /> petroleum hydrocarbon impacts at the site. Additionally, as requested by the County, all borings <br /> proposed in the Work Plan will be continuously cored. A copy of this letter is included in Attachment <br /> 1. This addendum includes a brief discussion of the site, proposed scope of work, and a schedule. <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The site is a former Chevron service station located at 139 South Center Street in Stockton, <br /> California (Figure 1). Former station facilities included two pump islands under a common canopy, <br /> three double-walled steel underground storage tanks (USTs), one double-walled steel used-oil UST, <br /> and a station building. Locations of former station facilities are shown on Figure 2. The area <br /> surrounding the site consists of primarily commercial land uses. Topography in the area of the site is <br /> relatively flat, and is approximately 12 feet above mean sea level (msl). The nearest surface water <br /> bodies are the Mormon Slough located approximately 1/4-mile south of the site, the Yacht Harbor <br /> located approximately 1/4-mile north of the site, and the Port of Stockton located approximately one <br /> mile west of the site. <br /> PROPOSED SCOPE OF WORK <br /> The scope of work proposed in this addendum includes: <br /> • the completion of one cone penetrometer test (CPT) boring. <br /> • the completion of one direct push boring. <br /> A summary of the field procedures to be followed during these assessment activities is included in <br /> Attachment 2.,The specific scope of work is discussed below: <br /> Chevron\90557\REPORTS\90557 CPT boring addem.doc SECOR International Incorporated <br />
