Vicki McCartney [EH]
From: Margaret Lagorio [EH]
Sent: Wednesday, August 15, 2007 8:25 AM
To: Frank Girardi [EH]; Harlin Knoll [EH]; Lori Duncan.[EH]; Mike Infurna [EH]; Nuel Henderson
[EH]; Vicki-McCartney[EH].
Subject: LOP issues
1. We will continue to collect the $294 inspection fee for well/boring grouts along with the $89 or$60 permit fee at.the non
D sites. At the D sites only charge time to the site RO and service code 310 when you are making grout inspections. All
other time is to be billed to LOP.
2. Chevron is proposing destruction of monitoring wells that are in sidewalks, driveways or streets for safety reasons.
discussed this with Jim Munch and he said their stance is that if the well is needed in the investigation it must stay until a
replacement well is installed nearby on private property. Another option is reduction in the sampling schedule for the well.
They can also increase the staff sampling these wells so that one can watch out for the other. Nuel and I met with
Stephanie Furgal from Chevron on Monday and discussed this stance. They are going to submit pictures, justification,
alternatives for my site so we will have to address this on a case by case basis. I told them that if they didn't sample the
wells,we still would not issue a well destruction permit without justification with which we agreed.
i
I
i
I
I
i
i
I
I,
I
i
I
1
J
