I am not able to locate monitoring well MW-17. Secor International Incorporated
(Secor) reported that during the quarterly groundwater sampling event on November 29,
2005, MW-17 had not been sampled because the well casing had been damaged. The field
technician collecting the. groundwater. samples reported that, MW-17's "box frame was gone
completely, a portion of the sheet metal skirt around the casing had been exposed, and the
casing had been broken on one side. " In addition,. Secor reported that during the same
sampling event, monitoring well MW-15D had once again been covered by soil from a
stockpile and sustained additional damage. Presently, there are piles of large metal
panels, piping, and a stockpile of sand and gravel on the site and garbage is everywhere.
I need to know what the City. of Stockton is going to do and please do not refer me to. Jay
Coffey. I look forward to hearing from you.
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
304 E. I just returned from
visiting the site at 139 Center Street and am pleased to report. that the soil is being
removed today! I don't know if you are responsible for this but if you are, I thank you.
I could not locate several of the onsite monitoring wells because of the heavy equipment
and soil deposits but I do believe more than one monitoring well has been damaged and will
need to be repaired or possible replaced. I will keep you informed.
i
Vicki McCartney, Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
304 E. Weber.
