Please coordinate
with ChevronTexaco to resolve the issues presented below and ensure the monitoring wells do not get damaged in the
future. Gettler-Ryan's
field technicians, Travis Vandevoir and Haig.Kebork, were onsite for the quarterly groundwater monitoring event. Piles of
soil are still covering about 75 percent of the property and soil was obscuring monitoring wells MW-15 and MW-17. Travis
and Haig told me that HF Construction removed the soil so the two monitoring wells could be sampled. The field
technicians pointed out MW-15D to me; this well is missing the top section of the traffic box and, as a result, the well
casing is exposed. This well is very contaminated and it is located only a few feet from the sidewalk frequented by many
of the homeless population. The entire traffic box will need to be replaced immediately. Also, a homeless person was
living/sleeping in the middle of the stockpiles. Will you please look into this matter, and secure the site with a fence as
soon as possible? Thank you, Darin.
Vicki McCartney,Senior REHS
San Joaquin County
Environmental Health Department
304 E.Weber Avenue
Stockton, CA 95202-2708
Phone: (209)468-3456
Fax: (209)468-3433
E-mail: vmccartney@sjcehd.com
1
