The discharge pipe shall pass through the steel <br /> cap located at the top of the extraction well and the penetration of the <br /> pipe through the well cap shall be water tight. The controls for the <br /> Pumps shall be set so that the pumps shut off when the water inside the <br /> well is within 5 feet of the pump intake. <br /> 2A-11 . DRILLING REPORT. During drilling and installation of the wells, <br /> monitoring tubes, and lysimeters, the Contractor shall prepare, on a <br /> daily basis, a detailed drilling report for each drill rig. The <br /> drilling reports shall include, but not be limited to, the following: <br /> • Footage of drilling completed during each work shift. <br /> • Summary of quantities of materials used to construct each <br /> well , monitoring tube, or lysimeter. <br /> The detailed drilling reports shall be prepared and maintained, on a <br /> daily basis, by the Contractor regardless of records and logs prepared <br /> by the Engineer. <br /> The Engineer shall have access to the Contractor' s drilling reports at <br /> all times and one carbon copy of each drilling report shall be signed by <br /> the Contractor' s authorized representative and furnished to the Engineer <br /> for each day while the work is in progress. <br /> 2A-12. MANAGEMENT OF DRILLING WASTE. Earth cuttings, plastic sheeting, <br /> and visibly contaminated disposable health and safety materials shall be <br /> disposed of in accordance with the requirements of Section 2B-12. <br /> Development water, discharge water, and drill fluids shall be <br /> containerized adjacent to each boring. The containerized water shall be <br /> transported to the water treatment plant located at the Owner' s facility <br /> for disposal , as directed by the Engineer. <br /> 2A-13. CLEANUP. At the conclusion of the work at each well , monitoring <br /> tube, and lysimeter location, the Contractor shall remove all equipment, <br /> tools, material , and supplies, and shall leave the site clean and clear <br /> of all debris generated by his work. All earth cuttings and drilling <br /> fluid generated while advancing the borings and discharge water from <br /> development shall be collected and managed in accordance with the <br /> requirements of Section 2A-12. <br /> 2A-14. LABORATORY TESTS. Unless otherwise permitted by the Engineer, <br /> each laboratory test shall be performed as specified herein. <br /> Test results shall be reported on forms suitable for reproduction and <br /> shall be acceptable to the Engineer.
